So just to recap… we just bought our house that we have been renting for the last three years and we are so excited to make this into our home! We are taking our dated exterior of our house and doing some diy & budget friendly curb appeal projects to it fit our style. We are doing a ton of new DIY’s like the concrete, new door and some lighting that I haven’t done yet and some that I have done before like pavers, paint and some landscape. I am taking you along each step! Hopefully you learn some new skills and can apply it to your own house! I have felt so excited to finally start doing all of things I have wanted to have done but didn’t think I could do it or afford to have someone else do it.
Well this week on the house to home project! I am ordering our new front door that we are getting from US Door & More! I am going to take you through the step by step process to make the experience easy for you!
So lets head to their website here https://www.doornmore.com
Once you’re in, browse through their different type of doors and pick the one you want. I love the detail and glass options! Then follow these steps to get your quote for your door. Once they send you the final quote you can proceed to checkout!

Step 1: Pick Your Door
This is the exact door we are putting in! I linked our exact door below!
Click customize to start the process of making the door perfect for your home!

Step 2: Customize The Door
-First up, pick the door system kit. This is the type of door that you want(interior/exterior/barn door). Since this door will be our front door we chose “Exterior-PreHung”.
-Choose the glass option you want (if your door has glass). We choose frosted for our glass. I wanted the light but also the privacy.

Door Handling:
Pick how you want the door to swing…in or out…left or right?
Our door originally swung out and the the right but with this new door we are switching it to swing in and to the left. We are making this switch because we want to add a storm door so we can leave our door open during those few short months we get good weather.

Customizing Your Door:
Door Sill: This is the bottom part of where the door sits. We love bronze over silver so we chose that.
Door Hinge: We chose a black hinge, because I love the contrast and it matches our new black accents on our house exterior.
Jamb Type: This is the type of material that you want in the door frame of the door. We just chose paint grade.
Jamb Size: This refers to the size of the width of the frame/jamb ours is 4 5/8 inches. Some our thicker but I think this is the average.

Customizing Your Door
Interior Casing: refers to what frames out your door inside. The finished moulding around the inside of the door frame. Ours is 2-1/4 inch right now but I plan on redoing ours later down the road when I get to refinishing our moldings around the house.
Brickmould: This is the outside door trim that would go around the door. We have concrete surrounding our door and it is within a little nook so we don’t have room for a trim on the outside.
Prefinish: This is the color you want your door to be finished. You can get it stained, primed, distressed, or painted. We are leaving ours unfinished so that we can add our own color combination to match our other wood accents.

Lock & Handle: this is the type of lockset you want.
We want a black finish. We are planning to add a smart handle down the line. I was looking at this set here.
After you complete the customization process you will click “request quote” they will send you the final quote to your e-mail and then you will confirm and put in your details (choosing pick-up or delivery & payment) and then just wait! The customer service at US Doors & More is amazing and they are always available through e-mail or phone. We pick up our door in just a couple weeks and then I will walk you through the installation process!
