Welcome to Brooke & Babies

MEET BROOKE

Hi there! I’m a stay-at-home mom, photographer, and DIY enthusiast who loves to create and connect with other like-minded moms. I started blogging in 2016 as a way to document my journey as a new mom and to share my passions with others. I quickly discovered that blogging was my creative outlet and a way to connect with other moms who were also trying to balance motherhood with their own interests and passions.

Now, as a mom of two young children ( & a third on the way!!), I continue to blog as a way to document my family’s adventures, share my photography business and DIY projects. Most importantly though I want to build a community that offers support and encouragement to other moms who may be struggling to find their joy and follow their passions in this season of life. I believe that motherhood can be both challenging and rewarding, and I hope to inspire other moms to embrace their creativity and to find the joy and fulfillment that comes from pursuing their own dreams and passions at the same time! It took e a long time to realize that I could do all the things, wear all the hats I dreamt of. I don’t have to be just mom, I can be a blogger, a photographer chasing my dreams for me and still be the best mom to them. If anything I learned that following my dreams and hobbies make me a better mother to them. Thank you for joining me on this journey and I can’t wait to get to know each other!

My Journey…

It all started in 2016

I was 21 and freshly graduated from college and starting my dream job, as a house parent to 6 children in foster care.

I went from college straight to motherhood. In an very unique way. My passion has always been working with children in foster care. I got a in depth experience looking at the implications of sensory integration & trauma-informed care on dysregulated behavior in children who have experienced trauma. Shortly after starting here I got into a car accident that redirected the trajectory of my life. I was in between of trying to figure out my next move in life when I found out I was already 5 months with our little miracle baby, Everson. From there my life, once again switch to a completely new path- being a stay at home mom. I decided to stop mid-semester while getting my masters in social work to focus on this very new and exciting journey of motherhood. For as long as I dreamed of being a stay at home mom I quickly realized I was still feeling like I was missing something. I just didn’t anticipate how becoming a mother would completely rock your identity as an individual. I was constantly putting everyone else first, felt isolated, stagnant and like I just had no creative or professional outlet. I realized that there were so many more things that I wanted to explore and accomplish, in addition to being a stay at home mom. That is when I decided to create my blog. Creating this space has been such a cool way to give me a little something of my own. I have been able to connect with people, explore and share my passions and have a creative freedom from home! Along the way of trying to balance mom-life with time for myself I have found a passion in so many other things like: DIY, photography and helping others reach their goals. I started a side business helping others with the marketing for their small business, then I started sharing more of my DIY & helping others design spaces in their home, and then finally I started my own photography business. I am so excited to share my experiences through pregnancy, being a mama, DIYer, business owner, photographer, blogger and just life in general! Thanks for being here and I can’t wait to help you reach your dreams or just be here to cheer you on!

A story of our last 9 halloweens… almost a decade A story of our last 9 halloweens… almost a decade of halloweens together. Just keeps getting bigger and harder to get a picture. Grateful for another Halloween together despite all the chaos going on in life🎃💕 #familyofsix #babynumber4 #dtsp
@nadjaseidl.photo sent us over our in-home newborn @nadjaseidl.photo sent us over our in-home newborn session for our sweet Zen that we took right before the hurricane and I just can’t help but crying my eyes out going through each one. They are so special to me as they capture our whole family in all of our chaos and just the pure joy that our Zenyn brings to our family. I literally still can’t even believe that these four are our babies. Brice and I are so incredibly blessed and we are so grateful for this family of ours especially in this difficult season.
Also so special to have these sweet memories of our home. The home we brought home and loved all four of our babies. All diy projects we did to make this home special for the kids. All the memories we built here. It was literally perfect timing to get these right before it was washed away💕
We just continue to be reminded of God’s goodness. The goodness in his people, our community, family & friends and the way that He finds ways to continue to provide for us even when it feels so impossible. Even in the hardest seasons God shows up in big ways and we just feel so blessed. Forever grateful for these photos of our babies @nadjaseidl.photo we love them!!
6 days since we lost everything in the flood of hu 6 days since we lost everything in the flood of hurricane Helene. 6 days since our lives have been flipped upside down. I have been trying to find the words to write a post but it just still feels so surreal that this is our reality right now. There is so much unknown for our future, so much heartbreak about seeing everything you worked so hard to build ripped out beneath you. I know it is just things and just a house but my family has always been based in a home. Home is where your heart is. It’s a place you feel safe a place you gather with all your love ones to celebrate, to grieve, to work, to laugh, to play. It’s your home base. Your comfort. Your place to rest and relax after a long day of work. It’s a place your kids have a bedtime routine because it’s safe and familiar. It’s a place their imaginations soar because they have favorite toys, space to run and explore. It’s a place to house all of your memories, your mementos, your favorite people. It’s a place you leave your family to work so you can pay for it. You put a lot of time, effort and money into a home. I am trying to put in perspective that it’s just material and it’s not people but I don’t know if that makes the loss any less heartbreaking. Because of how much of our hearts going into a home it is literally filled with life, it is time spent away from our kids, it is a place for our bodies to regroup. Until it’s not. Until all those special things, time and money spent just end up on the side of the road for other people to come by and pick through like it’s garage. It’s so sad and it’s so hard. The hardest part is that the kids don’t understand. They just want to know when they can go home. When they’ll sleep in their own beds. When they can play with their own toys etc. Even though it has been incredibly devastating, a roller coaster of emotions, and lots and lots of tears. God is always good and he is always reminding us about all the light left when all we can see is darkness. I may not have my home or my things but I have a beautiful life filled with amazing people. Family, friends, friends of friends, neighbors, teachers, church families soo many amazing kind people.
